Yokahú Kayak Trips, Inc. has more than 10 years of experience delivering excellent tours and services in kayaking, snorkeling, hiking and other nature adventures.

Inspired by our roots, we named our company "Yokahú" which means the "Good God" of our native Taíno Indians, the "good people". Some legends said that "Yokahú" used to sit on the top of the highest point of "El Yunque National Rain Forest" to provide surveillance to the natives. More than 500 years ago, Taínos used handmade canoes, which sometimes fitted 10 or more people, as a navigation method to fish. Nowadays, at Yokaú Kayak Trips, we use modern equipment to entertain, teach and remind us of the way of our ancestors.

Yokahú Kayak Trips' president, Luis Méndez, is a nature and history lover raised in Las Croabas, Fajardo where the Bio-Bay "Laguna Grande" is situated. Inspired by the impressive phenomenon surrounding his home, he decided to chair this company and show the world the treasures he knows like the palm of his hand.

Yokahú Kayak Trips is proud to be endorsed by "The Tourism Company of Puerto Rico". We operate with all the requirements and permits established by the Government of Puerto Rico and its Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA), and with certifications of the U.S. Coast Guard. Our tours are also recognized by cruise lines like Carnival, Princess Cruises, Costa Mágica, Legend and others. Each year we get great ratings from companies and their guests because of our professional, high quality services.

Teaching our locals and tourists about Puerto Rico's treasures is our main purpose. What is our valuable asset? Our Environment and Natural Resources.
