Yokahú Kayak Trips, Inc. has more than 10 years of experience delivering excellent tours and services in kayaking, snorkeling, hiking and other nature adventures.

Inspired by our roots, we named our company "Yokahú" which means the "Good God" of our native Taíno Indians, the "good people". Some legends said that "Yokahú" used to sit on the top of the highest point of "El Yunque National Rain Forest" to provide surveillance to the natives. More than 500 years ago, Taínos used handmade canoes, which sometimes fitted 10 or more people, as a navigation method to fish. Nowadays, at Yokaú Kayak Trips, we use modern equipment to entertain, teach and remind us of the way of our ancestors.

Yokahú Kayak Trips' president, Luis Méndez, is a nature and history lover raised in Las Croabas, Fajardo where the Bio-Bay "Laguna Grande" is situated. Inspired by the impressive phenomenon surrounding his home, he decided to chair this company and show the world the treasures he knows like the palm of his hand.

Teaching our locals and tourists about Puerto Rico's treasures is our main purpose. What is our valuable asset? Our Environment and Natural Resources. That is the reason we only use kayaks and eco-friendly approved equipment. We conserve and protect as we continue to share our passion and knowledge of nature and tourism and our interest of exploration of the environment.
